On this week’s episode of the Modern Vintage Podcast with Miss J, we discuss the concept of “mumu thoughts.” A thought that looks nice and sounds nice on paper, but when you try it on or say it to yourself you feel like a frump. Here are some examples of Mumu Thoughts:
- It is what is
- It didn’t really matter anyway
- It’s no big deal
- I shouldn’t be this upset
These thoughts sound nice, but they actually feel like crap when you think them. You don’t allow yourself to process how you are really feeling about any given situation when you brush everything aside with any of these thoughts. Instead, I invite you to stop and acknowledge how you are really feeling. Don’t brush away negative feelings or try to cover them up with a mumu thought.
